Winter Skin Care Routine
First, let me tell you a little about my skin type. I have oily, acne-prone skin. I have suffered with severe acne since I was about twelve. I am now eighteen and still suffer from severe acne. My skin is now the clearest it has ever been with my new system I have been using. I still have many scars but, they will fade in time.
I use the AcneFree severe system. I first used the regular AcneFree system and it worked extremely well for me, but then I saw this one and wanted to try it. This system I actually purchase from Five Below. If you don't know, Five Below is like a dollar store, but everything is under five dollars instead of just one. I purchased the system first from amazon for about eighteen dollars, but then I found it at Five Below for five dollars and stocked up. Steps one through three are to be used in the morning and steps one, two and four are to be used at night. I truly believe everything works differently for different people especially when it comes to skin. I have tried many prescriptions that have been horrible for my skin, but work great for other people. I am not saying this system will clear your skin, I am just saying it has worked very well for me.
Step three of the system is a lotion, so on its own it is pretty moisturizing even in the winter. Usually, a moisturizer is not necessary for me. On those extremely dry winter days, I do just use this cheap moisturizer from CVS. It is supposed to be their version of the Neutrogena facial moisturizer. It works great and does not leave my skin feeling greasy. If you have oily skin like me, make sure any moisturizer you buy is oil free.
Once a week I use the Kate Somerville facial mask. I actually got this from my holiday Popsugar box. If you have never heard of Popsugar Must Have boxes, look them up they are amazing. Anyways, I only use this once a week as a deep cleaning treatment. It can be drying as are most masks, but it does not irritate my skin. The Mint Julep mask from CVS is also one of my favorites and it is very cheap.
