ColourPop Review and Swatches

This has been a post that has been in the works for a while. I wanted to wait to do this until I had enough products from this company for an accurate review with a TON of swatches for you guys! This company I will be reviewing is ColourPop Cosmetics which you can shop from and check out their stuff here.  These shadows are called their "Super Shock Shadows" and they have a unique creamy almost mousse like texture but goes on like a powder.  Application is best with your finger to get max pigmentation.  They also work fairly well with synthetic brushes but, still best with your finger.  The lippie stix which are the lipsticks come in the formulas: glossy, matte, satin, hyper glossy, cream and pearlized.  I only have glossy, matte and satin as the other formulas are fairly new.  There are matching lip pencils for all of the lippie stix which I LOVE.  They also have blushes called "Super Shock Cheeks" that are the same cream texture as the shadows. I only have two, but I really like those as well.  I love these products, they are all super pigmented and high quality products for only $5 for the lip products and shadows and the cheeks are $8 because there is more product in them. They are a great price and amazing products.

Super Shock Shadows

Cornelius (Where the Light is quad)

This is a matte shadow from the "Where the Light is" quad by youtuber KathleenLights. This is a very neutral color that makes a perfect base or crease transition color.  I apply this color to my lid into my crease with my finger then blend it out with a synthetic bristle dome brush.

Blaze (Where the Light is quad)

This is a intense sparkle/glitter shadow also from the "Where the Light is" pallet by KathleenLights. This is a bronze color with gold glitter and is a metallic finish.  This color makes for a great lid color and is best applied with your finger.  With a brush there can be fall out of the glitter so best pigmentation is by packing it on with your finger.

Glow (Where the Light is quad)

Glow is an off-white cream matte shade.  I personally like this as a matte brow-bone highlight or inner corner highlight.  I like a more shimmery highlight but for those that like a matte subtle highlight this is great.  It is sheer so it blends out very well.

KathleenLights (Where the Light is quad)

This is a self-named shadow from the "Where the Light is" quad.  Kathleen describes this shade as a burnt-orange color which I agree with. It is a shimmery copper color and is a pearlized formula.  This is the perfect color for a warm smokey eye.  When warn, it is definitely the star of the show.

Mooning

This shadow is a rich chocolate brown color with a lot of glitter. The formula is called pearlized. The pigmentation for this one is really intense.  Well, they all have great pigmentation but, this one is on the more intense side.  You can't exactly tell in this picture but there is gold glitter with flecks of purple glitter. It is a bit dark for my taste, I like it more for a night out look.

Cricket

This is a purple, metallic finish shadow with gold, silver and purple glitter.  This one is less creamy compared to the other ones with slightly less pigmentation.  All things considered it is a beautiful deep plum color that works well for a smokey eye.

Girly

This shadow is probably my most used and LOVED out of all of the ones I have.  I did not realize it was a special edition, but I can no longer find it on their website.  Girly is a pearlized finish. I use this for a brow highlight and an inner corner highlight.  I've also heard of people using it as a face highlight since it catches the light, but I am still yet to try it.  This is one of the creamiest that I have.  If it ever comes back, I definitely recommend it.

Amaze

Amaze is a metallic finish shadow that is a very pretty rose gold.  Rose gold is really in right now for spring and this color is just perfect.  I have another tutorial using this color on my blog you can check it out here.  Amaze has silver and gold glitter in it and some flecks of other colors.

Hanky Panky

Hanky Panky is a matte shade I just recently purchased. It is very similar to cornelius, more similar than I had originally thought when I purchased it.  It is a taupe color that makes for a great base or transition shade. It also makes a great natural day time smokey eye.

So Quiche

So Quiche is such a unique shade.  ColourPop calls it an olive shade but I would say its more of a bronzey-gray and it has violet and gold glitter to make a beautiful one-of-a-kind shade.  I personally like this shade as an outer corner/crease color to deepen the look and add some sparkle. (Please excuse my messy swatch)

La La

I'm sorry, I can't find this one on the website either.  It could have been limited edition or discontinued.  La La is a ultra metallic finish, rose-gold color similar to Amaze.  I think the difference between the two is that La La is a bit more rose toned and Amaze is a bit more gold toned.  The picture seems to pick up an orange color, but in person it is more pinky.  I do a tutorial using this color which you can check out here.

Hammered

Hammered is a metallic finish that is a smokey olive color with gold glitter.  Green shadow really brings out my eyes so I love this color for a deep smokey eye that isn't your typical silver and black. I don't like this color as an all over lid color, but more as a crease or outer corner color to add dimension to the look. I use a synthetic crease brush to add it to my crease.

Super Shock Cheek

Prenup

Both blushes I have are satin finish.  I do not like blush that much until I tried these.  They blend out seamlessly. They are also buildable to make a more intense color.  I have not tried the other finishes so I cannot say much about them.  Prenup is described as a plum pink color. It looks more pink than plum to me.

Birthday Suit

This is my favorite of the two.  Birthday suit is a very neutral pink. If you want to see how it looks on you can check out my post here.  This blush is so creamy and is easily blended out with a finger, a dense face brush or stipple brush.  I believe this color would work well on all skin tones.

The first shade is Prenup on the left and on the right is Birthday Suit.  Keep in mind these swatches are layered so that you can see the color clearly in the picture.

Lippie Stix & Pencils

These are the lippie stix that I have. I have 2 matte, 2 glossy and 2 satin which are the original formulas.  As you can tell, I'm definitely a nude girl.

Brunch

Brunch is a satin finish that is a very beautiful coral color.  On the left is the lippie stix and on the right is the lippie pencil.  I actually like this one better without the liner, as the liner makes it a darker orange color and the lippie stix is more of a pink coral color.  This is a perfect spring and summer color to stand out.

Skimpy

Skimpy is a pale nude pink shade with a glossy finish.  The lippie pencil is a very different shade for this one, but I think they match up very well. I also like the lippie stix color on its own, although it can be a little pale.  It is a very pretty neutral color to wear with a bold eye.

Bound

Bound is another glossy finish pink shade.  This is my favorite nude lipstick of all time.  The glossy formula can be a tad sticky, but I kiss a tissue or napkin which makes it matte and last all day.  The lip pencil is also very different than the pink shade but together they make a beautiful taupe mauve pink shade.

Lumiere

Lumiere is another collab ColourPop did with KathleenLights from youtube.   This is a matte mauve pink that is just so amazing.  I wore this to my formal recently. I love this shade and I love everything that KathleenLights does.

Bichette

Bichette is my only really bold shade I have.  I have not had the opportunity to wear it much, but it is such a beautiful, intense matte berry shade. This is more of a winter/fall color since the deep red gives off a super in vampy edge.  I hope to be able to wear this shade more in the future, as I love the way it looks.

Frida

The only way I can describe this color on is a better than your natural lip color, color.  This color is also the product of a ColourPop collab, but this one is with Dani from "Coffee Break with Dani" youtube channel.  There are lip swatches of Dani on the ColourPop site.  I probably get the most use out of this shade compared to all the others I have. It is such a perfect shade for my skin tone, but can come off slightly orange on camera instead of the warm pink that it is.

These are all the swatches next to each other so that you can compare my many neutral shades.  From the top down is Frida, Bichette, Lumiere, Skimpy, Bound, and Brunch.

If you made it all the way to this point, thank you so much for reading!  I loved doing this post and I love these products!  Enjoy :)
