Four-strand Braid
What You Will Need:
- Hair brush
- 3 hair elastics
I think this is an easy hairstyle once you get the hang of it and something different besides just a plain 3-strand braid or a fishtail. It looks a lot harder than it actually is and, I don't know about you but I LOVE those kinds of hairstyles.
Step 1: Brush through the hair and bring it all to one side
Step 2: Tie your hair with an elastic band in a low side ponytail
Step 3: Take a small piece of the hair and create a 3-strand braid with it all the way down and tie it off with an elastic at the end
Step 4: Divide the rest of the hair into 3 equal sections and place the small braid in between the first and second section. I find the easiest way to do this is label the strands 1-4 so you should have: strand 1, strand 2 (braid), strand 3 and strand 4 from left to right.
Step 5: Take strand 4 and place it over strand 3 and under strand 2 (braid)
Step 6: Take strand 1 and place it under strand 2 and over over strand 3 (braid)
Step 7: Just keep repeating this down the hair, from the right side it should be over and then under and from the left it should be under and then over.
Step 8: Once you get to the end of the hair secure with an elastic. At this point you have the option of either cutting out the elastic keeping the braid in the side pony (like I did) or just covering it with a flower or any hair accessory to hide it.
Now you're all done! I hope you enjoyed this hairstyle!
