Nectar Summer Makeup

Hello lovelies! I wanted to try out the new Colourpop pressed powder eyeshadows very badly. When they emailed me at least 8 times about a sale, I couldn't say no. I picked up 9 shadows and without even realizing it, found myself drawn to peach and pink shades since they seemed the most unique to my many neutral shades. I played around with them and came up with this monochromatic, bright summer eye makeup.  These eyeshadows are fabulous, they are very pigmented, not too powdery, and blend flawlessly. Plus they are only 5$ a piece which is really great. Between the matte and the shimmer shades, I prefer the matte. The shimmer had slight fall out and needed to be wet to get it to the intensity I wanted. With the sale, I only spent about $38 for 9 shadows and an eyeliner, so I would say thats a deal! All steps and products used will be listed below.

Transition Shade

Using any large fluffy dome brush, apply Issues to the crease as a transition shade. This is a matte pastel peach shade and any light peach shade will do. Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie is also similar.  Buffing this into the crease in a very diffused way will help the other eyeshadows to blend better.

Crease

Using the same brush, or another clean fluffy brush, apply Centerfold into the crease in the same way. This is a matte coral shade. Keep this shade slightly below the transition shade so that eventually we will see a nice gradient of bright corals and peaches.

Deepen

Next, we are going to intensify the color even more. On a small, more precise fluffy brush, apply Slim Fit. This shade is described as a matte hot red coral. If you do not have a brush like this, you can use a pencil brush to apply the product where you want it then use a fluffy brush to blend it out for a similar effect. Keep this color again, below the last, more directly in the crease as well as somewhat on the lid.

Lid

Using a flat brush apply Liar, Liar to the inner 3/4 of the lid. I prefer how shimmer eyeshadows look toward the inner part of the lid, and not all the way to the outer corner. You can apply it on the entire lid if you prefer. Since this has not been blended out yet it does look a little patchy. I recommend spraying your brush with some fix plus or I just use any setting spray to make the eyeshadow appear more foiled.

Blend

Using the same small fluffy brush, I added more Centerfold, and Slim Fit to blend out the lid shade. You can also take the transition shade on a large fluffy brush to blend everything out again.

Lower Lash Line

Using a small definer brush or a pencil brush, add the same matte shades to the lower lash line. In the same order as on the lid. I applied Issues first, then Centerfold, then Slim Fit, across the entire lash line. You may want to use a slightly fluffy brush after to blend it out. I went for a very diffused lower lash line and put the color quite low.

Done

Last, just apply some mascara and some highlight to the inner corner. I used Champagne Pop by Becca for my face and inner corner highlight. I prefer this look with no liner to keep it bright and open. If you do want to use liner I think this would look really good with a soft brown winged liner using eyeshadow to keep it light and diffused.  Also optional are lashes, but I know many people do not wear false lashes regularly, therefore I did not include them. Once everything is done, you can also go back in with any shades to make them more vibrant if you choose.

I hope you try this out and love it as much as I do!
